BabySinead: the AltPornNow Interview

I recently sat down with the one and only BabySinead for out first ever AltPornNow.com Exclusive Interview. I met BabySinead a few months back while shooting her for BurningAngel.com. Obviously shes got the boob thing down … but i was pleasantly surprised to witness her depth as she has quickly risen to the top of the AltPorn cult/gang/circus. She blogs, she shoots models with one of those fancy digital cameras … she has an animal named after a dolphin. We didn’t talk about mold though. I guess i missed the boat.

Q: Describe your background … where abouts did you grow up? what were your interests in school?  any details about family life you’re willing to share?
I grew up in the suburbs outside of New York City. I was never very interested in school, the only classes I liked were art and English. I did a lot of drugs, and was a rebellious kid despite this I spent most my time alone, reading and making art. Most my friends didn’t understand me, I was always the weird kid in the crowd. I was always the eccentric one whether I wanted to be or not. I joined clubs but only went sporadically. I knew I wanted to move to NYC and started attending class at The Fashion Institute of Technology when I was 16 to work on achieving this dream.I don’t talk about my family because I believe they deserve their privacy but we’re all very close and have a lot fun together.

Q: I know a lot of people find their own unique way into this industry, whats your story?
I don’t believe I found myself here in a unique way into the industry. I turned 18, applied to Burning Angel and was shooting a month later. After moving to NYC I found more and more opportunities in the adult industry.

Q: How did your website, BabySinead.com come about?
I’ve been blogging since I was twelve on  various platforms such as livejournal. When I was 19 a friend suggested that I start my own blog with my own domain name. I never expected it to gain a following but I’m glad it did.

Q: What was your first hardcore sex scene like?  Describe the experience including how you felt, who it was with, who was there, what you think of when you watch it?
My first hardcore sex scene was with Ethan Hunt. Who was there? Joanna was there directing, James Deen was filming and Destro Damus was doing stills(which was funny since I had photographed him over a year earlier for a friends clothing company). Since I knew everyone except Ethan, who was very friendly, it was very comfortable. The sex was great and being on camera was super fun. The scene is still unreleased so I have no idea what I’ll think when I watch it.

Q: Who’s your current model crush?
My good friend Cherri Cola. Not a lot of people know about her but she’s really sweet and fun in addition to be totally hot and super naughty. She also knows hot to ride the pole real well.

Q: Why is the alt community so fixated on unicorns?
I’ve been into unicorns as a joke since high school advanced painting class. I painted a picture of a unicorn with donuts as a kind of weird fuck you to some girl who suggested we paint “fantasy” pictures, and by fantasy she meant fairies and wizards…that’s not my type of fantasy.  Since then people randomly send and give me unicorn related shit. My latest acquisitions are a dirty thrifted unicorn purse my friend Dusty used in a set for Burning Angel and a Unicorn horn shaped dildo to review from a sex toy company. My aim has been killmyunicorn since I was 16. I have no idea what everyone elses deal is. Maybe it’s some sort of hipster thing. Maybe it’s because of that awful movie Mia Farrow lent her voice to.  Personally I think the alt communities fixture on cupcakes is weirder. I don’t know why people are tattooing baked goods on themselves.

Q: Describe the first time you did a scene/photoset with Joanna Angel.
The first time I did a scene with Joanna was this past spring. We made out in her guest bathroom and touched eachothers cunts. Joanna also put her plunger that sort of has a handle like a butt plug in her ass. It was pretty fucking hot. James filmed the whole thing.

Q: How does your on-screen sex life differ from that of your off-camera romances?
It doesn’t, in fact they’re both the same to me. I’m actually living in a porno. If you’ll excuse me I have a delivery from a big sausage pizza.

Q: Do you remember the moment you decided “this is the job for me”?
There was no real moment, I think it just evolved into a job for me.

Q: Have you had an occasion to weigh your boobs?  And if so, describe the experience.
No but I have tested to see how many pencils I can hold under them. Last I checked it was seven.

Q: Tell us something you think your fans might be surprised to know about you.
I like reading about cults and ufos.

Q: Where can we see more of you, besides BabySinead.com?
Go to babysinead.com, click the “porn + me” tab and voila! A complete list of sites I’m on. If you’re too lazy for that, I do most my work for Burning Angel.   If you want to see me get fucked by a bible sales man(who is now my bf) with produce while he eats banana I suggest buying Filth On 42st Grindhouse Triple Feature on amazon. There’s also an incest plot line and I play hot potato with a penis with one of my best friends!

Q: Have any advice for new starlets, looking to make a name for themselves in this business?
I personally have a list of people I should be avoided at all costs but I guess the best advice is don’t be an idiot, and read contracts thoroughly, don’t sign anything you don’t understand or agree with. Oh and don’t be a fucking idiot.

Q: Living in NY, what are your favorite things to do?
I used to be a club kid but retired from nightlife recently after getting fed up with the bullshit. I’m a huge homebody now, I live in Bushwick Brooklyn which is apparently the next Williamsburg. I prefer to stay local, I like eating brunch at Life Cafe and getting my drink on at Kings County. My favorite thai place is Cheers. I go shopping at the Vortex on Montrose and Bushwick for vintage porn, used books and knick knacks. I shop a lot of Graham avenue, you can seriously find everything you need in those shops…there’s everything from santeria to payless.

Q: Tell us about the first time you took out a camera with the intention of making your own art/porn?
The first time I picked up a camera was when I was eight. I used a disposable camera and a sheet, and took pictures of my friends trying to make them look like Vogue editorials. They looked more like clothed kiddie porn. I have pictures of me where I was doing this very eerily authentic 90s lolita thing. The first time I ever used a camera to make porn I was 15 and it was a gradual process from self portraits clothed to naked. It just seemed natural. I felt more myself naked in a picture then clothed. The first time I was ever video taped having sex I was 16. My friend had passed out drunk in my bedroom and my boyfriend and I started going at it thinking she was out cold. She wasn’t, she grabbed a video camera and shot us unknowingly. She showed half our art class and everyone agreed it was pretty fucking hot. I started taking pictures of other people naked when I was 20. I’m surprised it took so long to get there but I spent the first couple years of college preoccupied with still life work. The first time I shot hardcore porn aka fucking was in Spring ‘08. It was the scariest most exciting raw shoot I ever did. I  literally had to mop the floor afterward.

Q: How often do you shoot as a photographer?
At the very least once a week. I get anxious if I wait too long.

Q: Where do you find your models and what in particular makes a model appealing to your aesthetic?
I find my models from a variety of places, model-photographer networking sites, some are fans of my blog and come to me, escort agencies, friends often tell girls they should shoot with me and a lot are actually my friends. Every model has something different that appeals to them, there is no baby sinead model ideal.

Q: Tell us about your most memorable experience, meeting/communicating with a fan for the first time.
The first time I met a fan and was recognized was on a city street and I was super nervous and awkward but flattered. I kind of ran off because I was so flustered but I was very happy. I’m much less awkward when meeting fans now. I find that fans and I often have similar interests and i have great conversations with them!

Q: Tell us five things you can’t live with out, and five things you can’t stand.
I can not live without my family, Fungi my cat, sunscreen, my vibrator and whiskey.  I can not stand getting hit by cars, crowds, people who chew gum loudly, dentists and copy cats.

Q: What are you listening to these days?  Name at least one musician  you’d be embarrassed to admit you listen to.
I listen to classic rock radio almost everyday because it’s a guarantee I’ll hear a song from my favorite band The Who. When I got my Ipod on it’s usually electronic, I like Simian Mobile Disco and Heartsrevolution. My love for Sean Paul is a bit embarrassing but I won’t deny it.

Q: Looking back, have any mainstream movies changed your life in a profound way?
Tank Girl the movie along with the comics have been a huge inspiration in how to live my life.

Q: Do you have any sexual fantasies you have yet to fulfill?
I’d really like to be gang banged. Anyone want to set that up? I’d also like to have an orgy with all the delinquents in the movie Cry Baby. I think one of these is more relastic then the other.
