“Pretzel” was shot ina a little part of Frankfurt that looked like a bavarian village. There were a lot of people walking around and anjoying their free day… lots of bars and locations but it was a perfect location for the pretzel themed shoot we ha in mind.

While Kelly Lind and I started shooting we had 2 persons watching i noone was coming… but I guess we could not be sure.. there were people watching from the windows around and a cook walking up and down the road we started shooting… Good for him…

Q: Tell us how Live in My Secrets went from idea to finished product?

Live in my Secrets is a combination of my fantasies and nightmares. It’s also my first time experimenting with Super 8 film. All my movies start out as some perverted dream, I’m just happy I have the means to get them out of head and to the rest of the world.

Q: In your press release for Live in My Secrets, you referenced the sexual content of a scene by stating it included “pissing, otherwise own as squirting”. Are you saying that squirting is a myth? Or was that remark tongue in cheek?

I’m skeptical of squirting, but I’m a big fan of pissing…

Q: Looking back at your first film as a director with the benefit hindsight, what might you have done differently?

I don’t think I would have done anything different in my movies. I’m pretty happy with them so far.

Q: Was the transition from actress to director a mere phone call away? Explain the process.

Apparently it was a phone call away, but I didn’t know that. The first time I was offered a directing gig (Naked&Famous) It was a bit nerve racking, because I wanted to do something special, and I didn’t have a ton of skills to make that happen, so I thought. But I just sucked it up and did it, and it turned out great and now it’s a lot easier to make movie, but still always a challenge.

Q: How do you feel as an artist when asked to define your work in terms of category and substance?

People define my work as “Alt” and I’m ok with that. Alt to me means “Alternative”, an alternative way of making pornography from how it’s being done everyday, all day in porn valley.

Q: Do you read your reviews negative or positive?

Yes, I read them. For the most part people seem to like what I’m doing so I make my movies for those people.

Q: Tell us about the differences, if any, between your on and of camera sex life.

I enjoy good sex at home and on camera, I’ll do crazier stuff on camera like group sex, but I don’t do that in my personal life. I’m a one man kind of women. A “Serial Monogamist” if you will.

Q: When I’m forced to switch gears from the mundane tasks of life we all endure, to that of photographer, i use music to help me transition moods. What do you use to get you in the mood to create?

Music is a big part of my process as well as places, people and past experiences. Morphine is a perfect example of me using all of these elements together to make a picture.

Q: You’re the only director i know of in this industry besides Andrew Blake who uses film. Why has film become an important tool in your arsenal?

I just started experimenting with film this past year and I didn’t know how it was going to work for me in these projects. But it really ended up reflecting the exact tone I wanted for Live in my Secrets. And now I’m hooked.

Q: Can you trace back your sexual fascination with menstruation to a particular event? If so, please describe.

A: It’s not really a fascination with menstruation. It’s more a fascination with the Dwarves album cover Blood, Guts & Pussy. I love that cover and I just wanted to re-create that image on film.

Q: In regards to the content of your work, do you believe there is such a thing as “going too far”?

A: Everything I’ve ever shot has been “Sex Positive” and consensual. Legal is another story, sometimes there has to be sacrifices but not many.

Q: Latest book read?

My Loose Thread by Dennis Cooper, It’s about a violent homophobic boy named Larry, who is in love with his brother and is hired to murders another boy because of the contents of his notebook.

Q: Before you found yourself in this industry, did you have a porn stash? Do you remember where you hid it? What type of material it was?

I had a lot of access to porno but one dirty magazine with Belladonna changed my perspective on adult. Before I saw her, with her black hair and tattoos I thought all porn girls were leather faced Barbie monsters. And I wouldn’t have given porn a second thought. But, she looked cool, like someone you’d actually want to watch.

Q: Living in LA, what are your favorite restaurants, shopping spots, places to shoot?

I like to shop at The Buffalo Exchange and eat at Diners. I enjoy shooting at Winkytiki’s house and Eon Mckai’s pad or whatever location has wood paneled walls.

Q: You’ve got great taste in women, including Sasha Grey, Faith Leon, and Bobbi Starr in your latest film, is there anyone you’d like to work with in the future that you have yet to approach?

I’d like to work with Tori Black and Stoya.

Q: Stepping outside yourself for a moment, what do you find sexy about Kimberly Kane?

I think at times I can be smart and sexy which is a pretty dangerous combo.

Q: What’s next for you?

I’d like to release a compilation of the Super 8mm films I’ve shooting and do more photography.
